Don't put your TRASH in the GARBAGE CAN!!!

Yes, that is what I told my son today! He was wanting to throw away his drink (the ice that was left) and went to throw it away in my brand new, $70.00 trash can. That's right folks, I paid $70.00 for a trash can. It's a really good one though! The company our neighborhood contracts with does NOT provide cans.

When we first moved in we received a huge packet from the trash collection company about what was acceptable and what wasn't. We were told we could not exceed 36 gal trash cans and we could only have 2. We could also put bags next to the cans, but it could only be 10 or something like that. Have you seen how big a 36 gallon trash can is? Not very. So, being the rule followers we are, we went out and bought our teeny, tiny cans. Well, one has a hole in it, the lids aren't attached, and they hold MAYBE 2 full bags, each. Did I mention we are one with wild critters out here?

So, after watching almost everyone else in our neighborhood pull out these nice BIG trash cans, I finally bit the bullet and headed to Home Depot this morning and purchased my $70.00, 65 gal trash can. My next door neighbors have 2 of these. I'll get another one next month! Yes, we're keeping up with the Jones and yes we gave into peer pressure...I hang my head in shame as we're such horrible, horrible people.

So, I told Wesley today he COULD NOT throw his trash away in the trash can....you would have done the same!!!

4 month checkup...

Wyatt's 4 month checkup was today. He weighs 13# 8 oz. Can't remember his height but do remember the stats: 25% in weight, 90% in height...can we say Tori all over again?? YIKES!!

The big, bad, pharmaceutical company has come up with a new vaccine that combines some of them, so now instead of 4 shots, he only received 2, plus an oral. He was a champ and took it like a man! Only cried a bit afterwards. He even stopped crying in between shots! Wowza!!

Speaking of shots...if only you could have seen me. I received 2 shots at the pedi's office today right before Wyatt got his. The nurse, who was about 80 (not really) told me to get on the table...seriously?? Have you seen the tables at the pedi's office? They themselves are about 80 yrs old and super high. So here I go, hiking myself up on this table that I'm sure is going to give any minute while she preps me for my shots. The entire thing was humiliating!!! I'm 37 for crying out loud...I had no business sitting on the pediatrician's table! Anyway...I'm really, really sore now! I got my flu shot and a pertussis shot...for whooping cough or bronchitis, which is apparently making a come back.

I get to start Wyatt on cereal tomorrow...where has my baby gone????? The nurse said he is so ready for it by the way he sucked down the oral vaccine and the Tylenol that was given to him. Tori didn't do solids till 6 mo. I tried, but she wanted nothing to do with them. We'll see how tomorrow goes! I'm really excited about this milestone! I went out before I picked up Tori from school and got him some cereal and some fruit. I get to start that in a week! Oh, let the fun begin!

Anyone else watch Nancy Grace? She's been all over the missing Caylee thing. Well, today Casey Anthony was charged with murder...unbelievable...I didn't think they'd do it...they have NO evidence and no body yet. I personally think she's wacko (Casey, not Nancy Grace). If she did kill her baby girl, she needs to fry...period.

On that note, I'm off to bed!!

Dodgeball....seriously?

Okay, so Greg emails me his schedule this morning. I also received another email from him about the Deloitte Dodgeball tournament today...starts at 4:00 and runs till the cows come home...so he'll be late....SERIOUSLY????

Oh, there'll be some dodgeball going on when you get home, mister, and I'm going to be the only one playing, so WATCH OUT!!!!

So it's been a while...

What of it? Okay, so life's been very hectic! Everytime I think to get on for an update, I don't. Well, here I am, promising to be better, again!
Wyatt turns 4 months tomorrow....sheesh...where has the time gone? We put him in his bed all by his lonesome a week ago, Monday. He's doing GREAT! I give him his last bottle at 8:00, then put him down when he's done. He sleeps till around 8:00 the next morning...sometimes he's up a little bit earlier, but hardly ever is it earlier than 7:30. I can't remember a time when he woke up earlier than 7:30. Watch him make a liar out of me tomorrow!
On to Tori....so Friday we had plans to go to the zoo with our friends. I arranged with Grandma to keep Wyatt so I wouldn't have to bother with him (being fed, changed, etc) and I could spend some good quality time with Tori. She was sooooo excited going to the zoo. She kept talking about the zoo and petting animals, etc, all week. So we get to Grandma's to drop off Wyatt and what does she say? "No zoo, Tori grandma's"....interpreted to mean: She doesn't want to go to the zoo with mommy, she wants to stay at Grandma's house. No, I don't think so...I woke up at 6:30 to get things packed and ready to go to the zoo and she was going whether she liked it or NOT!!!! We ended up having a great time even though it turned to be a super hot day!!
Now it's Wesley's turn...what can I say? Wesley is Wesley...Scouts and Soccer have started back up. Greg is coaching once again. They won last week 4-0 and were totally pumped. We (me and a couple other parents) totally missed the 1st goal as we were chit-chatting about something. It was me, a dad, and another mom. The dad says "Oh, we just scored" I'm all "are you sure?" He says "they're resetting the ball in the middle, that means somebody scored" again, I'm all "are you really sure?" Did I mention he's of hispanic origin and his son eats, breathes and lives soccer? His son also scored that goal we missed!!!!!! Tori insists every game on going onto the field and playing soccer too. I continue to tell her we will leave if she keeps it up. She then tells me she will sit and watch....then complains that she's not playing...it's never ending with her! Wesley is in his last year of Cub Scouts...he's in Webelos II. I think his crossing over is in January, then he'll begin Boys Scouts....WOW! He has also joined a DI team although we've gotten zip info on it as of yet...needless to say, he's swamped! Oh, forgot to mention...he's also on the 5th grade choir at Ault. Although we (he) missed practice on Tuesday...
Okay...time for pics! Click for a larger pic!

An apple a day...

keeps the doctor away, unless of course you have your annual checkup, or in our case, monthly checkup! Wyatt had his 2 month checkup yesterday. He checked out great! He's 11 lb 11 oz I think and can't remember length...I do remember he's 75% for length and 50% for weight. He did get 4 shots, 2 in each leg + an oral immunization. So, it was rough for the little guy. But, he did great after it was over...he calmed down in no time and wasn't fussy all day!

Speaking of shots, I was doing some gardening yesterday and the kids (Wesley and Tori) were outside with me playing. I was almost done planting when I heard screaming and yelling to the tune of "awww stupid wasps", I turned and looked and saw Wesley on the ground grabbing his leg/foot and 5-6 wasps swarming around him and Tori. I ran as fast as I could the 2 ft they were away from me, grabbed Tori to get her out of the way while Wesley RAN the opposite direction, towards the street. I yelled at him to come back so he did, around the side driveway. He got stung by a red wasp on the top of his foot. I sat him down in a chair right by the driveway, ran in a made a paste of baking soda and caked it on. He was calm by this point and the baking soda was helping the sting. Tori took it upon herself to remind Wesley she got stung by a bee on the finger at which point Wesley told her a wasp sting was MUCH worse than a bee sting. I asked him how he knew that since he's never been stung by a bee and he said his dad told him. I reminded him that his little brother got 4 shots today and he said his one wasp sting was much worse than Wyatt's 4 shots...I just let that one go!

So today, off to the Dr's office, again...Tori was due her 3 yr checkup. Okay, so we're almost 2 months behind...whatever...She checked out perfectly and received her flu shot...well, actually flu mist today too! She took that like a champ. Wesley is scheduled for his 10 yr checkup next Tuesday, yes we're 5 mos behind on that one, but again, whatever...hopefully he'll be able to receive his flu mist then also.

School starts in 12 days, but who's counting??

I'm attaching some pics of Wyatt and Tori...I need to get the pictures of camp developed so I can post some of those also! Did I mention Tori has a new toy? Well, actually it's Wyatt's toy that his Aunt Sandra bought for him, but for some reason Tori thinks she can squeeze her 38+" body into it and have at it. She's even tried pick up Wyatt and move him when he's playing so she can play.

Tori started Ballet/Tap/Tumbling 2 weeks ago. She absolutely loves it! She doesn't ever want to take her ballet shoes off...I have to hide them from her!
That's all for now...I'll post about the Wiggles concert soon...got some cute video from my camera...did I mention video was not allowed??

All Alone...

Wow...it's been 2 weeks since my last post. So much has happened!! But to spare you all the details, I'll just jump right in talking about how so very alone I am...okay, so I have Tori and Wyatt...now do you see where this is headed??

Wesley is off at camp. I took him on Sunday to Grapeland, TX where Frontier Camp is located. This is his 2nd year at camp. He LOVES it. Now, if you notice, I said "I took him" meaning me, solo, alone, by myself, etc, etc, etc...WHY? Because Greg was leaving for Norway and wouldn't be back in time if we all went. So, I took him and drove back, 2 1/2 hours all by my lonesome. It wasn't bad!! Greg left for the airport around 5:45. He told me he was leaving around 5. He figured he had time, so he left later...his flight wasn't scheduled to leave till 7:30 or so. Turns out, the plane arrived early and they wanted to leave but he was the only one not there, so they called home wanting to know if he was coming!!!! I wasn't home yet but Sharon was here as was Mike and Kim. They called Greg on his cell and he was at the airport. So, they didn't leave without him! I talked to him later and he said there were 8 people on the flight!! He took some pics of the town he was in in Norway which I will post.

Wesley is having a ball at camp. At least, I suppose he is. He's not allowed to call home till Thursday and that's ONLY if he's so miserable and needs to hear our voice...I'm not holding my breath! He didn't call last year, don't expect him to this year. I'll post a pic of him at camp and you be the judge or how he's doing!!

So, I've been single mom-ing it since Sunday. Wyatt did great Sunday/Monday and slept till 5:30am, and even then I woke him to feed him. I heard him stirring so figured it would only be a matter of time! Tori was so exhausted from the night before (swimming with daddy in the afternoon then uncle mike in the evening did it to her!) she didn't wake up till after 8:30. We missed our 9:15 gymnastics class. That was okay because we made it up today...gave us something to do! I also registered her for dance today. She was sooooo excited but sad that today wasn't actual dance class day. She insisted on wearing her ballet shoes to the dance studio!! I bought the required ballet and tap shoes last week and had to hide the tap shoes or my floor would never forgive me! And, she's practically living in her ballet shoes! Last night Wyatt decided to wake every few hours to eat or should I say nibble...that's all he was really doing! This evening he was really downing his bottles so hopefully that's a sign of good things to come as far as waking this morning! I don't know how single moms do it or shall I say single moms of small children! I can't wait for Greg to get home tomorrow...he's such a great dad and husband...he's there right by my side every night/morning. He doesn't even complain on the weekends when I call "you have baby duty" before he does!!

Well, there's much more, but I'm exhausted as it is! More later...

And all is well...

Wyatt had is 1 month checkup today. Well, actually he had it a week ago Monday except somebody forgot about it. Okay, so I didn't forget, I knew it was coming up, I just didn't know the exact time and date. I was waiting for my friendly reminder call from the pedi's office that they usually send the night before...nope, didn't happen. What I got instead was a nasty, where are you call...okay, it wasn't that nasty but it makes my story more interesting! Anyway, I ended up rescheduling for today. He weighed in at 9lb 10oz. For a guy that only eats 2 oz a feeding, he sure is putting on the weight! The doc said I could start offering him a 1/2 oz more, but I told him I was already offering him 2 oz more and he was adament about stopping at 2oz. Oh, if only I had that kind of will power! He was 85% for height, 50% for weight and 75% for head. These are important stats that I'm sure will serve him well in the future. He also got a shot after I was assured (over the phone) he would not. It was actually a part 2 shot, so maybe it doesn't count as a "real" shot, who knows. Anyway, he cried a bit, then got over it.

Wesley had a friend over yesterday and he ended up spending the night. I love Wesley's friends. He has chosen wisely! They are so great to NOT exclude Tori in their activities. Now, don't get me wrong....they don't necessarily INCLUDE her, but they definitely don't exclude her. That makes my life so great! They swam a bit then played on the swingset. After dinner, they played on the swingset again. Tori was in HEAVEN!!

Wesley has been great with Wyatt...too great if you ask me! The other night he finally settled down, so I put him in his swing for a few minutes so I could have just a little of me time. I went to my office to check email and such. The swing is in the family room. Greg was upstairs getting Tori ready for bed. Next thing I hear is, "Oh, lil bubba (that's Wyatt's nickname) what are you doing here all alone? You shouldn't be alone, no..." 2 minutes later Wesley strolls in with lil bubba in his arms ready to hand him over. I was not very happy. Wyatt was fine in his swing, not fussing, just chilling out, next thing you know he's in my arms, again... He's also great at feeding Wyatt when I'm in a pinch.

As for Tori....poor little thing, that could go for Tori or Wyatt. Tori so much wants to mother Wyatt. He cries and she tries to hold him. Not a good thing...so, I have to keep an eye on her or she'll try to pick him up and carry him away...If you've seen the things that she's done with her baby dolls, you'd understand! But she loves him and doesn't protest when I have to feed him, etc. She loves to help give him a bath! I tried giving Wyatt a bath in my big tub in my room. I placed his little tub into the big tub. Next thing I know I had 2 other naked children in the bath with Wyatt!!!

So, other than the french being in town (greg/work) all is well!
